Free SEO & AI Search Page Check
Paste the address of one page on your website. In about 20 seconds you get a plain-English report on how well that page is set up for Google and for AI answer tools such as ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews.
Free. It asks for your email address, and I keep it with the page you checked so I can follow up. You can unsubscribe any time. Privacy Policy.
How to read the report
- GreenThis part of the page follows good practice.
- AmberWorth improving. Each card says why it matters and how to fix it.
- RedCan stop the page being found or used at all. Look at these first.
- BlueFor your information, or a check you do yourself with the link we give you.
The check
Paste a page address and your email.
It reads that one page the way a browser and a search engine would, plus a few small public files on the same site (robots.txt, the sitemap, llms.txt and the http:// version of the address). It never changes anything. Your report appears on this page as soon as it is done. If you also want a PDF copy, tick the second box and I will email it to you.

One thing can stop this page being found. Fix that first.

Search engines may index this page
This page tells search engines not to index it (“noindex”), so it will not appear in Google or in Google’s AI answers.
How to fix: If you want this page found, remove the noindex setting in your SEO plugin or page settings.
A direct answer near the top
The first paragraph is a welcome message. Nothing near the top says plainly what the page offers.
How to fix: Open with one or two sentences that answer the main question: what you do, for whom, and where.
Structured data (schema)
1 of 2 structured data blocks could not be read (invalid JSON), so search engines will ignore it.
How to fix: Fix the broken block, then test the page in Google’s Rich Results Test.
Meta description
No meta description. Google will pick a snippet from the page, which may not be the part you would choose.
How to fix: Write about 120 to 160 characters that sum up the page and give a reason to click.
HTTPS
The page is served over HTTPS, and the http:// address redirects to it permanently.
AI crawlers in robots.txt
The search-type AI crawlers may read this page. 1 of 4 training crawlers is blocked, which does not stop the page appearing in AI search.
Made-up example for illustration. Your real report lists about 25 checks, with details you can open.
What we check and what we do not
Classic SEO and AI search, on one page.
Search engines and AI answer tools mostly want the same things: a page they are allowed to read, that says clearly what it is about, and that is easy for a machine to understand. The check looks at those things and tells you, card by card, why each one matters and how to fix it.
We check
- Can it be found? That the page loads, where redirects lead, HTTPS, the canonical address, noindex settings and whether robots.txt lets Googlebot in.
- AI crawlers. Which AI crawlers your robots.txt lets in, with the ones that power AI search kept separate from the ones that collect training data.
- The basics on the page. Title, meta description, main heading, subheadings, amount of text and readability.
- Answer-friendliness. Whether a plain answer appears near the top, and whether the page uses question-style headings or an FAQ.
- Machine-readable details. Structured data (schema) and errors in it, author and date, internal links, image descriptions, sharing previews, mobile setup, language, page weight, sitemap and llms.txt.
We do not
- Promise rankings or AI mentions. No tool can. This is a checklist of good practice, not a prediction.
- Check your whole site. One page per check, plus a few small public files on the same site.
- Look at your Google account.Search Console needs your own login. You get a link to check this page there yourself.
- Measure real speed. We give a rough sign from the page code and a link to Google’s PageSpeed Insights for the real test.
- Log in, change anything or sell your email address. We read public pages only. We keep your email and the page you checked so I can follow up.
AI crawlers, briefly
Blocking AI training is not the same as leaving AI search.
Search crawlers and training crawlers
Some AI companies run separate crawlers for different jobs. OpenAI, for example, says OAI-SearchBot is used for ChatGPT search results and GPTBot for training its models. Anthropic separates Claude-SearchBot from ClaudeBot in the same way.
So a site can block the training crawlers and still let the search crawlers in. The report lists each one so you can see which choice your robots.txt makes. That is your decision; we show it as information, not as a mistake.
Google is different
Google’s AI Overviews come from the normal Google index, so they follow the same rules as Googlebot. Google-Extended controls the use of your content for training Gemini models; Google says it does not affect your inclusion or ranking in Search.
llms.txt is an emerging convention, a plain-text guide to a site for AI tools. It is optional and nothing requires it, so we report it for information only.
If you want it handled
Most fixes are an afternoon. Some are not.
- The report is written so you, or whoever looks after your site, can make the fixes yourself.
- If you would rather hand it over, Rank is how I help businesses get found in Google and in AI answers.
- You get a straight answer on what is worth doing first, and no promise of a position nobody can promise.
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no payment. In return the tool asks for your email address, and you agree that I may send you occasional emails from Stevie about keeping your website safe and visible in search. You can unsubscribe at any time. It is the same arrangement as the Free Site Check, and the same email list.
Will fixing everything get me to the top of Google, or into ChatGPT’s answers?
Nobody can promise that. Rankings and AI answers depend on many things a single page cannot control, such as competition, your reputation and how searchers behave. The check makes sure this page is not holding itself back: that it can be read, that it says clearly what it offers, and that machines can understand it.
What do you keep?
Your email address, the page address you checked and its domain, how many red, amber and green results it had, the time, a record of your consent, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your connection address. I keep these so I can follow up, until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them. If you unsubscribe, your address stays on a do-not-contact list so I do not email you again. A finished report is held for 10 minutes so a repeat check of the same page is instant, then it expires. To limit abuse, a scrambled form of your connection address is also held for up to a day. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Can I get a PDF copy of my report?
Yes. Tick “Also email me a PDF copy of my report” before you run the check. Your report still appears on this page straight away, and the PDF is emailed once to the address you typed, from stevie@jacques.media. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, look in your spam folder. The PDF is built on the spot and I do not keep a copy of it.
How do I unsubscribe, or have my details deleted?
Use the unsubscribe page, or the unsubscribe link at the bottom of my marketing emails. To have your details deleted, email jacques@sosstevie.com or call (754) 302-4631 and say so.
My SEO plugin says the page is fine. Why amber?
SEO plugins and this check look at different things, and amber means “worth improving”, not “broken”. Some ambers are a judgement call, for example a short page that is meant to be short. Each card says what we saw and why it matters, so you can decide.
Can I check a page on a site that is not mine?
Please check only sites you own or manage. The tool reads public pages only, but it is built for owners. Each page can be checked once every 10 minutes, and each visitor gets a few checks an hour.
