Terms of Service
Effective date: October 12, 2026
These terms apply to your use of https://sosstevie.com and to services provided by Steeplechase, Inc., doing business as sosSTEVIE, Florida, USA (“sosSTEVIE”, “I”, “me”) to you (“you”, “the client”). If a signed proposal or agreement for a specific engagement conflicts with these terms, the signed document wins.
1. Services
sosSTEVIE provides website rescue (hack and outage recovery), rebuilds, search and AI-search visibility work, and ongoing technical and AI support (“Rescue, Rebuild, Rank, Run”). Descriptions on this site are general information, not a binding offer.
The Site Rescue (formerly the SOS Digital Diagnostic) is the paid, fixed-price service described on this site, at the price shown when you book. It includes finding the problem and, for a compromised site, containment and clean-up within the scope stated at booking. Before making any change, I take a full backup and I log every change I make. By booking the Site Rescue, you authorize me to access your website and hosting and to make the changes needed to contain and clean up the problem.
Any work beyond the Site Rescue’s stated scope, and any other service, is quoted in writing before it starts. A quote describes the scope, price and timing for that piece of work. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless they say otherwise.
2. Payment
- Fees are as stated in the quote or invoice, in US dollars.
- Payments are made through PayPal.
- Payment timing for each engagement (for example a deposit and any milestones) is set out in its quote. Pre-agreed milestones are billed as they are delivered.
- I may pause work on overdue accounts.
- Ongoing (retainer) services are billed as stated in the retainer quote. Either party may cancel a retainer with 30 days’ written notice.
Third-party costs (hosting, domains, licences, plugins, AI or software subscriptions) are your responsibility unless the quote says otherwise.
3. Refunds
- The Site Rescue fee is non-refundable once the Site Rescue work has begun. Refunding it would mean restoring your site to its prior, compromised state, which is itself additional work.
- Project deposits are refundable only if you cancel before work starts.
- Completed work is not refundable.
- Emergency work already performed is billable.
4. Completion and acceptance
At the end of each project you’ll receive a written completion notice. Please review the work and sign or confirm acceptance. You have 7 days from the notice to send me a written list of any deficiencies against the agreed scope, and I will fix them. If nothing is listed within those 7 days, the work is deemed accepted.
5. Your responsibilities
- Backups. You are responsible for keeping current, independent backups of your website, data and email. I may take backups as part of the work, but they don’t replace your own.
- Access. You confirm you own or are authorised to manage the sites and accounts you give me access to, and you’ll provide timely access, information and decisions. Delays on your side may delay the work.
- Credentials. Change or revoke the access you gave me once the engagement ends.
- Content. You are responsible for the legality and accuracy of your own content, products and data.
6. No guarantees of outcome
- Rankings and AI visibility. Search engines and AI systems are controlled by third parties. I do not guarantee any ranking, traffic, citation, lead volume or revenue.
- Hack recovery. I don’t guarantee that every compromised site, file or piece of data can be recovered, that all malicious code will be found, or that a site will never be compromised again. Security work reduces risk; it can’t remove it.
- Third-party services. I’m not responsible for outages, changes or actions by hosts, registrars, plugin vendors, Google or other providers.
7. AI tools
I may use AI tools in delivering services, as described in the AI policy and Privacy Policy. Work is reviewed by me before delivery.
8. Confidentiality
I keep your non-public information confidential and use it only to deliver the services, except where disclosure is required by law.
9. Ownership
Deliverables created specifically for you belong to you once you have paid in full. I keep all rights to my pre-existing tools, code snippets, templates and know-how, including where they are used in your deliverables. Third-party plugins, themes and other components remain under their own licences.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, sosSTEVIE is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunity. My total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid me for the engagement the claim relates to, or, for ongoing services, the fees you paid in the 3 months before the claim. Services are provided “as is” except as expressly stated in a written quote.
11. Indemnity
You agree to cover claims against me arising from your content, your instructions, or sites and accounts you weren’t authorised to give me access to.
12. Ending an engagement
Either party may end a project engagement by written notice. You pay for work done up to the end date, subject to the refund terms above. Sections 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13 continue after an engagement ends.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida (Fort Lauderdale), and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.
14. Use of this website
Content on this site is general information, not professional advice for your specific situation. Don’t attempt to disrupt, probe or attack the site. Security activity is logged.
15. Changes
I may update these terms. The version in effect when you accept a quote applies to that engagement.
